How to use acne medication and shave lotion at the same time?

I'm 18 and I shave every other to third day and I use acne topical medication every day so how do I use shave lotion and topical acne medicine at the same time? I shave in the shower and after I get out I put on my acne medicine and then the lotion but is that how I should do it or what? Thanks for the advice
