Is it true that neutrogena oil free acne wash is harsh?

Well im on acne medications and im useing neutogena oil free acne wash as a cleanser and my mom like hates neutrogena and is always telling me that it bad for skin and stuff but it fine for my skin and its clearing up some of my pimples so is it really harsh?? Any sucess with
